U9'S TRIUMPH IN LOCAL TOURNAMENT

On Sunday March 6th, TSJCC's U9 side triumphed in an indoor cricket tournament against some pretty strong local opposition.

In the round-robin group stage the team got off to a slow start, with losses against Ramsbottom and Prestwich; the latter posted a highly impressive 163-1, one of the top performances of the tournament. However a vital win by 13 runs against Woodbank ensured the Totts team made it through to the knockout phase.

In the semi final the youngsters had a very tense win against Bury, with their 125-0 just trumped by our score of 128-2! Having progressed through to the final, the team then once again played Woodbank. In an uncanny resemblance of the group stage contest, the TSJ side again ran out winners by 13 runs, with scores of 108-4 vs 121-2.
