WINTER DIARY DATES

We never rest down at the Meadows. Here's a quick run down of *some* of the thrills and spills coming your way over the next few months. From tours to cricket in the snow, from training for the young (and not so young) to social events, we've got it covered!

WINTER NETS

We are once again running around 20 weeks of winter nets at Tottington High School for junior boys and girls. These begin on Wednesday November 4th, and will take place from 5-6pm each Weds, right through to late March. They are of course free and open to all-comers. We will have several coaches on hand from the club. Last year's sessions proved very popular and were a great introduction for players with both zero and limited experience, and we hope to see faces old and new this year too!

Senior nets are booked in at Woodhey High School on 4 successive Mondays starting Feb 29th, and running through March 7, 14 and 21. We will confirm exact times at a later date but please make every effort to attend. We have a much larger squad for 2016 with the move to the GMCL and recruitment of around 10 new players already, so it's important to make sure that nets are well attended and competitive.

BOXING DAY FUN

This will be our 10th year of cricket on Boxing Day, having taken over from Bolton Road in 2006 in the annual festive match with Brooksbottom. After two seasons down at Brox, Boxing Day cricket returns to Crompton Meadows, and the day will not only see the usual fun and games in whatever conditions Mother Nature throws at us, but will also see the official opening of the new upper-tier pavilion extension. Visitors will also be able to use the expanded downstairs facilities.

Programme production and sponsorship opportunities are all being worked on as usual, and we should have the programmes ready to distribute around the start of December. If you'd like to play in the game, please let the captain know!

NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY

We will once again be hosting a New Year's Eve party down at the club for players, families and friends, and we hope you'll join us in the best possible venue for seeing in 2016 - at the bottom of a muddy field; where else would you rather be?

BENIDORM TOUR

After last year's cracking tour, we're once again returning to Benidorm to take on the Sporting Alfas CC. The tour departs on Friday March 4th, returning Monday March 7th (just in time for nets). Places are already filling up; if you're interested, please get in touch with Kieran for full details.

OTHER DIARY DATES

The GMCL fixture list isn't yet out, but we're already working hard to fill the calendar for 2016. The annual golf day will be moving to Harwood GC (dates TBC) while we will of course be hosting Tottington's Big Day Out on July 3rd - the past two years have seen a combined 8,000 people descened on the Meadows for a cracking afternoon of live music and entertainment, and we hope you'll join us again this year. Your committee will also be announcing other social events throughout the winter so please keep an eye on the website, follow us on Twitter and Facebook, and we hope to see you at the Meadows soon!
