PLAYER SURVEY RESULTS 2021
Our first annual player survey took place during October and November 2021, with members asked to provide online feedback on a wide range of club facilities and their matchday experience. The survey was anonymous, allowing players to have an open say on many issues, and results were extremely positive. The complete feedback has been put before the general club committee who will use this to inform discussions and developments over the coming months. Thank you to everyone who took part - involvement from all our players and members is vital to ensure that the club continues to move forward in a positive, inclusive manner and provides the best experience for everyone.
Here is a snapshot of the feedback received.
- 100% of players felt welcome and included at the club
- Players were asked to rate 9 club facilities from 'Poor' to 'Excellent'. The pavilion, changing rooms, bar, spectator facilities, training facilities, sightscreens, scoreboard and playing surface received between 75% and 95% excellent or good ratings
- 81% of respondents feel the club moves forward each year, with the rest unsure. Nobody felt the club had moved backwards in 2021
- 86% of respondents felt that concerns they raised were dealt with quickly
- 90% of respondents felt that selection is transparent, although there may be ways to improve this
- 100% of respondents felt part of the team on matchdays, although some didn't feel included on all occasions
- Around 50% of players use the club website and social media channels, with 100% using at least one club Whatsapp group
- Players are happy with the current training night(s)
- Players generally feel that the most important part of matchdays is playing at the highest possible standard, with playing in a relaxed atmosphere a close second
- 62% feel that we are playing at the right level, while 25% think the standard isn't good enough
- Membership and matchday costs was felt to be at the right level (92%), while the remainder think it's too cheap!
- We asked an open question about what could be improved on the playing side - the most popular responses were around more targeted coaching/training, and specifically use of grass nets where possible. Many players feel that training as a club and not as perceived team groups is more beneficial to development. Some other specific comments have been referred to the committee to be followed up
- We also asked what would be the best things to do on the non playing side. Most responses focused on having more family and inclusive events, and also improvements to the bar and kitchen - again, this has been followed up by the committee and we will make announcements in due course
- Finally, on a scale of 1-10 as to would you recommend TSJ to a non-member, 97% of players scored this 8 or higher, with no rating lower than 6
Once again, thank you to all respondents for your valuable feedback.
