CATHOLICS SLIP THROUGH THE NET AGAIN!

Totts succumbed to yet another disappointing defeat against main rivals Catholic Club, despite once again having the Rochdale team in a whole heap of trouble. Batting first, the home side had soon slipped to 40-6, and with veteran Danny Mulkeen off the field injured, the potential to dismiss Catholics for a very low score beckoned. However, Ahmed with a good half century, and a mix of doughty batting and chancy strokeplay from Willmore and Houldsworth somehow raised the total to 160. There was a 5 wicket haul for Carl, who bowled with plenty of zip (so he says!)

With Ash in magnificent form, it just needed a couple of early partnerships. Unfortunately this didn't happen. Willmore, bowling for the first time in several years, turned in a vintage performance to capture 8 wickets as the Totts innings never got going. Ash scored yet another 50 but with little support save from Matt Ablett (37) down the order, Totts crumbled to just 105 all out.

Your website reporter received a slightly shorter report from Jamie, who commented: "We battered your lot, ash got 50 and I kept as good as gilchrist!" Thanks Mr Dell!
