The Totty Tigers are a 20/20 team based at Crompton Meadows and integrated within the club. The team plays friendly matches against a wide variety of opposition throughout the summer, usually on Friday nights. The Tigers won the first Ramsbottom and Tottington Bash on August Bank Holiday Monday (held at Ramsbottom CC). The teams involved were Ramsbottom Traders, Rammy Dads, Rammy Yellows and Totty Tigers.
Tigers lost last night in an entertaining game at Rammy. We arrived at Rammy after a difficult week only managing 10 men, one of those being Brian Hall, whose antics kept us entertained all evening! Traders opened first scoring 152. Ferguson, Hayes and Leigh all retiring on 30. Brian for some reason seeming like a magnet to the ball!!!
Tigers then scored 139 seeing new recruit Adam Gardom retiring on 30 and Andrew Hall on 29. Ian Crabtree 25 not out. However highlight of the evening was Brian Hall going out to bat. His shimmying down the wicket had everyone in stitches and despite him giving up on his box and helmet due to technical problems scored one run!!! And as he pointed out- NOT OUT!!! Great fun!!
Tigers narrowly beat Rammy Traders Friday May 13th in a good game played in very cold weather! Tigers batted first scoring 118 with Danny Ashburner retiring as top scorer. Traders replied with 108. Wickets coming from Connor Gayden (2), Roberts Hart (2), Josh Bowen and Ryan Marsh. Next game now not until 3rd June when we travel to Ramsbottom to play Traders again.
Last night (May 6th) saw Tigers get off to a good start to the season with a win against Rammy Dads. We had a young side with two very good new additions in Robert Hart and Charlie Greenwood.
Tigers batted first scoring 180 with Kieran R, Robert Hart, Steve Brooks and Ryan Marsh all retiring. Rammy Dads replied with 111 with Bernard and Lee Dickinson both retiring. A solid bowling line up saw wickets from Robert(2), Charlie, Harsha, Adrian and Kieran R.
Next Friday's game is against Rammy Traders at Crompton Meadows. Start 6pm. All spectators welcome.
