Tottington St Johns Cricket Club, part of Tottington Sports Club, is proud to celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2012

Formed in 1887, we are the longest serving members of the North Manchester Cricket League, with a growing membership and currently undergoing superb progression on and off the field, with junior and senior cricket sides and a thriving rounders division. However, in conjunction with our anniversary celebration comes an ambitious and exciting plan to extend the current clubhouse by completing an extension which will allow us to better serve the needs both of our club members, and also allow us to hold events both for the club and local community.

To coincide with our anniversary, we have compiled this fascinating and detailed history of the club, featuring many extremely rare photographs, interviews, archive materials and specially-commissioned features.

The club gratefully acknowledges the many donations received from former players and officials, including Neville Brooks, whose photo archive has been of great value, Dave Coffey, and the various current club members who put the book together and wrote features to complement the older material.

The book is a great read not just for anyone interested in the history of cricket in Tottington, but also for anyone interested in local league cricket, sport in Lancashire, and fans and historians alike.

The book is available to buy at a cost of just £5 and we think it's a top read!
