COREY BECOMES YOUNGEST CENTURION

15 year old Corey Sheehan made TSJ history on Sunday May 10th 2026, becoming the youngest ever player to score a century for the club in senior cricket. His 101 not out was the cornerstone of an impressive win against Elton. The previous record holder, Oscar Thomas, set the record back in 2025, once again indicating the current strength in depth of our junior division. Indeed, an article we published towards the end of the 2025 season highlighted just what an impact our younger players are making both in their own age group games and also in senior cricket.

To further underscore how much our squad is developing, Oscar's brother Aaron Thomas also notched an unbeaten half century against Elton, while the bowling attack was spearheaded by another teenager, George Sowden, whose 5-12 helped clean up the home side. We're only a few weeks into the 2026 season, and we've already seen impressive performances with both bat and ball from our youth, with Luke Hall agonisingly close to a maiden senior half century from the number nine spot in a recent 2nd XI game at Brox; Jack Schofield and Harrison King are impressing with the ball. Sam Woolley has also picked up a five wicket haul for the 2nds, once again underlining his all-round potential.

Once again, congratulations to Corey for his magnificent achievement, and let's hope for more great things from all our players as 2026 progresses.

Corey
