Life Members

In 2012, to mark the 125th anniversary of the club, the committee met to elect a series of new life members. This had rarely been awarded, with only former president David Crompton a member. It was fitting in our anniversary year to bestow life membership on a number of individuals who have made a significant contribution to the running of the club.

Attempting to select past players or officials for this honour proved tough, but we finally agreed to award life membership to all living former Chairmen, Secretaries and Treasurers over the age of 50. In addition, the committee decided to award a special life membership to Kath Brooks ("Mother") for several decades of tireless effort on behalf of the club (including unpaid scorer duties for numerous seasons, teas, dozens of other jobs, having to bring up Clive, etc). Some of the awards were presented during the Man Yuen celebration meal in April 2012, the remainder have since been presented.

The committee also recognised the efforts of dozens of past and current players, supporters, officials and others who have made the history of our club so rich - both on and off the field.

In 2019 and 2025, further life memberships were bestowed on various individuals who had made significant efforts to advance the club or played a prominent role in the club's history.
