2026 SENIOR CRICKET WINNERS

The end of season presentation and prizegiving took place at the pavilion on Friday October 16th. Prizes were also handed out for the U18s team, following the successful junior presentation evening the week before.

Attendees were treated to some top notch speeches from Ian Hayes, who was highly entertaining, Watty, who was highly late and unable to operate the microphone, Dan Tatts, who was Dan Tatts, Nick Marsh, who was Nick Marsh, Mooro, who dropped everybody in it, and Lachie, who was decidedly Australian.

Every speaker was highly complimentary about Kieran, Dickie and everyone who gets the games on, our tea preppers, the bar staff and our dedicated supporters. I'd also like to personally thank Bernard Manning, Jim Davidson and Chubby Brown for writing most of the speakers' material.

Here's a quick rundown of who won what!

Club Awards

Billy Fish Clubman of the Year - Nick Marsh, essentially for being Nick Marsh!

Outstanding Achievement - Gav Greaves, for bringing All Stars cricket to TSJ

Nick has worked tirelessly on so many things this year, as well as valiantly holding the 2nds together despite lots of missing players and difficulties on and off the field. He's also been a massive, non-complaining support to the club through numerous social and cricket events, and also continued to play despite being injured for some of the year. He is an inspiration as always.

When it came to the cricketing award, there were many strong contenders across both senior and junior divisions, with a number of younger players breaking personal and club milestones. We had no fewer than 8 centurions this season, including four junior players, absolutely unprecedented.

There were also strong performances in the the T20 triumph and excellent individual efforts across all three senior sides, from the pro on down. It seemed unfair to single any of them out above the rest. However Gav's contribution has been not only as an outstanding junior coach but also taking the lead in bringing All Stars Cricket to the club throughout the later part of the summer - this proved a huge success and hopefully laid the groundwork for attracting the next generation of players to the Meadows.
