WASHOUT ENDS 60 YEARS OF NMCL HISTORY FOR THE 1STS

Our proud reign as longest serving members of the NMCL came to an end on Saturday as the 1sts season closed with a disappointing washout against Blackley. A torrential storm hit Bury around 10.30am and by 1 there was little chance of a game with the square and outfield flooded. Despite game attempts from the players to clear up, the captains couldn't agree on a start and so the match was abandoned.

While the 2s were pushing on for the Division 3 title, there was just time to reflect on our long and proud association with the NMCL and now it's time to focus on the excitement and challenges that await in the brand new Greater Manchester Cricket League in 2016.

However the rain that didn't stop one or two from having a little post-abandonment fun - anyone who's been fortunate enough to see the video of Rick and the boundary rope have had a treat ...

Futile
