AGM UPDATES
The 2016 Tottington Sports Club AGM will be held at the pavilion on Wednesday March 2nd from 7.30pm, and is open to all existing players and members from all parts of the club, together with anyone else who would like to attend. It will follow a similar format to recent years, with updates from various committee members followed by the fixing of match fees and annual membership costs, election of officials, and voting on captains for 2016. If any current member is unable to attend, please could you email Clive via tsjcc@aol.com ahead of the day.
A couple of important notes:
We are on the lookout for someone to take over the role of Club Secretary, one of the key positions at the club. Paul has stepped down after a number of years in the position, and we are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed club member to take over. Nominations will be accepted on the night, or you can approach any member of the committee in advance to discuss the role.
As per usual, nominations for the position of 1st or 2nd XI captain and vice captain can either be made ahead of the meeting or on the night. Voting for any nominations received in advance will be opened in mid February though new candidates can be put forward on the night. If you'd like to confirm your interest, please email Clive via tsjcc@aol.com by February 12th.
Please note that only full club members who paid their 2015 annual membership fee are entitled to vote for club officials and captains, as per the club constitution. However, non-members are of course fully entitled to nominate themselves for election to any club position for 2016 at the AGM or beforehand.
To obtain as large a vote as possible for captains, any member unable to attend the AGM or who wishes to vote privately in advance can email their votes for the captains/vice captains to Clive by Monday February 29th. At the AGM further nominations for any of the 4 captaincy positions may be made, and a further vote will be held at the AGM for the attending members who haven't voted in advance, and then the numbers will be tallied. You can vote on any or all of the 4 captaincy positions when nominations are available. Members can of course abstain from voting.
