SATURDAY WINS FOLLOWED BY SUNDAY DESPAIR

In a weekend of mixed fortunes, the 1sts put themselves right in the thick of the title race with a thumping 10 wicket win against Blackley, only to fall down with a terribel defeat against lowly Ashton. With key players missing both days, this had "wobble" written all over it, but there was to be no issue on Saturday, Ash leading from the front with a hard hitting 68 not out and the CDO chipping in with a valuable 20odd not out as the side chased down just 98 to take the points. On Sunday, despite Marshy's 5 wicket haul, a batting collapse saw the side fall two runs short in pursuit of just 104.

The 2nds meanwhile continued their recent resurgence with a terrific win against Blackley. There was a maiden 50 not out from vice captain Watty, before Superman Rob Holt chipped in with a 5 wicket haul to lead the boys to a 60 run win. Well done chaps.

The juniors meanwhile faced a tough test against Stand on Sunday, and in an entertaining contest lost by just 5 runs.
