TSC GOLF DAY 2014

The annual Tottington St. John's Golf day was held at Greenmount Golf Club on Friday 6th September. Despite an ever fluctuating attendance we put out 16 teams of golfers – some good, some bad, some ugly and some (see later) actual cowboys.....

Many highlights made for a really enjoyable day – but seeing Rick Carr turn up in a golf buggy with two slabs of beer strapped to the back probably set the tone!

Winners were - Team: Steve Dearden’s foursome with a massive 96 points (Steve did not win the nearest the pin despite attempting a late cheat); Longest Drive: was won by a golfer that can hit the ball 300 yards uphill and into the wind (or tee off from the 9th Tee instead of the 18th?).

The night do was well attended and we enjoyed the usual high quality fare with the comedian (just about) hitting the right tone – although Duncan did sit apart from Pat during this part! Thanks must go to Neville and Kath Brooks for 'spotting' on the third; Phil for having the bar open for 9.30; Yanis for butties and another top meal; Greenmount Golf Club for ensuring the course was immaculate; all the golfers / friends of TSJCC for putting teams in and making us a sizeable profit!
