RACE NIGHT, INTERCLUB MATCH AND PRE-SEASON MAYHEM

The season is just a few short weeks away, but before we put down stumps in earnest there's plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks. Pre-season nets continue at Woodhey each Monday from 7.30 to 9pm, and we've already seen a few new faces, and enthusiasm from seniors, juniors and girls alike!

April 1 - NATWEST CRICKET FORCE

The annual NWCF day arrives on Saturday April 1st. If you can spare any time, please come down and help out, there are 101 jobs to do and don't assume that "someone else will do it". Unlike other local clubs, we won't fine you if you don't turn up, but the more that come down, the more jobs we get through and the more time we have to get everything set (and drinks after). Even if you can only come down for an hour, please do - you'll even get a free oversized* T shirt!

* or undersized for some of our seniors!

April 8 - INTERCLUB GAME / RACE NIGHT

Spring should have sprung by this time, and with it we'll have our first proper run out on grass, as we're hosting an inteclub game in the afternoon and then a race night to help with club funds (and bring folks together) that night from 7.30pm. Ian Hayes has all the details of the race night, we expect folks to chip in for horses and for bets on the night, and it should be a cracking do. Plus we'll have all the usual refreshments to hand; after the afternoon cricket, there may be some lively banter to enjoy (and almost certainly someone will have thrown their toys out of the pram - suggestions to DocP@losthisragagain.com)

April 16 - CLIFTON FRIENDLY

We'll ahve more details in the coming weeks, but we will be playing Clifton in a pre-season game on Easter Sunday. Last year we had fun on Good friday with a cracking match against Brooksbottom, this year we'll be hoping to get match ready with some new opposition. Please support your captain and let him know if you are available. All support welcome too.

April 22 - SEASON STARTS

The 2017 season gets underway properly on Saturday April 22 with both senior sides in action. We'll have more news, details and all the season bumph nearer the time, but let's hope we get everyone out and raring to go! For those that were unable to attend the AGM you'll be pleased to know that memberships and match subs remain unchanged for 2017, as we continue to offer some of the absolute best value in local cricket!
