DOUBLE DELIGHT AS DANIELLE SCOOPS MAJOR AWARDS

We're delighted to announce that our very own Danielle Collins has scooped two major awards in the past few weeks in recognition of a terrific season both at Tottington St Johns and on the county stage, where she totalled over 1,000 runs for the season.

Danielle has scored runs consistently for the women's side, and has also enjoyed a full campaign with several notable scores for both the 2nd XI and latterly the 1sts, where she ended the season opening the batting. It's been a very successful season for our women's side in 2017, who earned two runners up trophies in their 20 and 40 over competitions. Several members of the team turned out and performed well for our senior sides throughout 2017, including Katie Schofield who regularly opened the bowling for the 2nd XI. Danielle and Eve Whaling also featured in last year's Boxing Day clash with Brooksbottom CC.

First up for Danielle was the Bury Sports awards, where she was named as the I Will If You Will sporting female of the year in recognition of her achievements at all levels. The awards were handed out on November 8th at Bury Town Hall.

The last week of November then saw Danielle recognised at county level, with her being named as the Lancashire Women and Girls U17 player of the season for 2017 at the county's Excellence Presentation Evening, held at Old Trafford's Point facility. There was an additional reason for the club to celebrate as Ellie Davey, who has represented our girl's side, was named as the U15 player of the season.

All at the club would like to congratulate Danielle on her well-deserved double triumph, and salute the efforts of all the women and girls that have turned out during 2017 and put in a series of terrific performances under the watchful eye of coach Bret. With players making waves at both club and county level, the future is indeed bright for this talented crop of cricketers.
