ASIF IN THE WICKETS AS 1STS DEFEAT BLACKLEY

The 1sts have often struggled to get results against Blackley, especially on away soil, but this Saturday they comprehensively defeated their bogey side to record a 7 wicket win.

Batting first, the home side were soon in trouble as Asif nicked key early wickets, including danger man Bell. Collinge stood firm, and indeed was to remain undefeated on 44 as wickets crumbled around him. Asif finished with a useful 5-38, while Si Marsh and Ste Brooks picked up the rest to dismiss 10 man Blackley for just 91. Marshy bowled a particularly tight spell, taking 3-32 from 17 overs.

Low run chases have often been a bit of a problem for our line up, and with Doc, Russ and Rick away it was left to the experienced hands of Kieran (15) and Crabbers (18) to break the back of the chase before Stoney came in and bashed a rapid 30 not out to seal a good victory by 7 wickets, and take us back into the top six.

The 1sts now have a 2 week break, as next weekend sees the return of Tottington's Big Day Out to Crompton Meadows - come and enjoy this fantastic day of fun, live music, entertainment and celebration; with over 4,000 in attendance last year and similar numbers expected this year, it'll be a great day out!
