The 2s have gone back to the top of Division 3 after a weekend which saw them gain 10 points in very different circumstances. On Saturday Elton were unable to field a third team, meaning that Watty's boys took the points by default. This was probably a double blessing, as holidays and unavailability meant that an inexperienced 1sts had to travel to Irlam to take on the leaders. However on Sunday, a strong 2nds visited Edgworth and returned home with maximum points in a comprehensive victory. Having posted a respectable 149, the 2nds bowling line up dismissed Edgworth for just 80 to ensure 5 points and to leapfrog Greenmount and take back top spot in Division 3.

The 1sts were little match for Irlam; the home side rattled up 211-5 in their allotted overs, though Nelly B bowled a tidy spell. The veteran then showed his own prowess with the bat, top scoring with 48 as Totts mustered 131 in reply. KC made the only other contribution of note, a solid 32, but the weakened line up struggled against one of the league's better attacks.
