END OF SEASON WRAP UP

Our first season in the new GMCL has finished, so how did we do, where did we end up and who looked the part? We'll be bringing you a full season review, awards and averages etc in the coming weeks but here's a quick overview.

The 1sts finished a highly credible 6th in Division 4, despite the usual issues with missing players, an inability to field the same side twice in a row and some tough new opponents. There were some great wins over teams at the top, and some desperate losses to the teams who finished lower in the league. However with so many games rained off, it was a very stop-start season for everyone; maybe next year the weather will be kinder? Highlights included the Doc's hundreds at Lakeside and ELPM, consistently excellent bowling from the two Marshy's, the thrilling end at Walshaw, runs from GT, KC's usual solid starts and some encouraging return to form from the likes of Big Bird and Carry

The 2nds meanwhile ended up 8th, and lost 8 out of 20 games to the weather along the way, the most in the division. There were lots of new faces and some encouraging performances, especially towards the back end of the year. Sail's boys fielded a lot of players along the way - as expected - and it was good to see some younger players chipping in, as well as the veterans such as Dickie, Boris, Mahmood and Sail.

A full round up of big performances, averages, awards and more to come! 1st XI leaderboards and MVP. 2nd XI leaderboards and MVP
