Brox avenge 2009 loss to claim annual fixture [Boxing Day home]

In a stunning display of hitting, young Ben Richardson smashed the first ever ton in the annual Boxing Day clash to give Brooksbottom CC a well-deserved victory and revenge for last year's thumping loss.

The match also received unprecendented media coverage, with action featuring both on Sky Sports news and BBC North West Tonight!! Unfortunately for Tottington it wasn't the best of days - with several key men absent through illness, the XI who turned out had a good go, but fell plenty short as Brox racked up a massive 215-4 in their 20 overs. Dickie P and Duncan were dismissed to all parts by the rampaging Richardson, though both Parkinsons and Asif exhibited good control early on.

When Totty batted, the only men to shine were perennial star man Ash Parkinson, who retired on 28, and Si Marsh who managed some lusty blows late on. As ever, the big winners were the clubs, who received good publicity, and the spectators who were treated to some fine festive fayre both on and off the pitch!
