DOUBLE DISAPPOINTMENT FOR TSJ

After the easy win on the opening day of the season, an under-strength Totts were put to the sword by perennial rivals Rochdale Catholic Club, going down to a disappointing 5 wicket defeat.

Having lost the key wicket of Flash early, none of the Totts batsmen settled - with Doc and Marshy sorely missed, wickets fell regularly and it required some late hitting from Cliff and Matt "They were MY runs" Hunt to get the score up to a poor 98 all out. The wicket was pretty bad, but that sort of total was never going to challenge the Catholics, especially with 3 Totts bowlers missing.

The visitors took the fight to Totts in their customary manner, and rattled up the winning total in under 20 overs, with Shahid and Mulkeen Jr quickly taking the game away with brisk 30s.

To round off a disappointing weekend, the 2nd XI succumbed to their second straight defeat; a total of 140 was never going to be enough at Woodbank, with young starlet Harry Dearden cracking an imposing 64 not out as the home side chased down the victory target for the loss of just two wickets.
