1STS GET OFF TO A FLIER
The 1sts got off to a good start with a convincing 8 wicket win against visitors Robinsons. An impressive bowling performance from the ever-reliable Asif saw him grab the season's first 5 wicket haul, his eventual figures of 6-31 good reward for some accurate bowling. He was aided by some good catching, with Kieran snaffling 3 and Boris 2. Nick Marsh took 3 wickets late on, while there was a useful opening bowling stint from young Ry Marsh in the absence of Doc and Si Marsh. The visitors just managed three figures before the final wicket fell.
Totts innings got off to a bad start when Boris was run out, and when newcomer Paul Johnson departed for 12 there could have been a wobble. Instead Mike Watts came in and hit a rapid 43 not out, with the usual steadfast support from skipper Kieran who also ended with a nice 28 not out as victory was secured in 21 overs.
Next week sees the visit of Lowerhouses, who will prove an altogether tougher challenge!
