MOZZER SNR CLEANS UP WALSHAW
The 2nds recorded a very welcome six wicket win at home to Walshaw 3rds on Saturday 10 July.
Excellent opening spells from both ends from Steve Moriarty and Graham Jebb Jnr gave Totty a brilliant start which proved just too much for an inexperienced Walshaw side. Opening from the Beryl Avenue end Steve Moriarty rolled back the years bowling an excellent spell taking 5 for 32 off ten overs.
Graham Jebb Jnr more than did his bit with a fast and lively spell from the pavilion end, taking 4 for 18 off 7 overs. Rob Holt chipped in with 1 for 7 to wrap up the Walshaw innings for a very modest 58.
Chasing such a small total should have been a simple task, but typically Totty kept things interesting by losing four quick wickets. However, the ship was steadied thanks largely to a solid 25 by Mike Watts. He hit some lusty blows over long on as Totty knocked off the 59 runs required for victory in just 17 overs.
