END OF YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

The following text appeared in the Boxing Day programme 2015 - it contain's Scott's thoughts on what has been a monumental year for the club, and looks ahead to an exciting 2016!

On behalf of the committee and members of Tottington Sports Club I would like to thank you for purchasing this programme. Your financial support, together with that of our sponsors and grant providers, makes an invaluable contribution to the running of our club.

For the first time in three years Boxing Day cricket returns to Crompton Meadows in 2015. For those of you that join us on the day you will see the new and improved lounge area and also our first floor extension containing a new home changing room along with a third changing room for when we have mixed teams, I hope you like it. Not content with this latest development we are already looking into further improvements of the ground and storage facilities!

Following the massive success of the first Tottington’s Big Day Out in 2014 we again hosted some 4000 revelers who despite some late afternoon rain enjoyed some great music, food and drink. We will be hosting the event again on Sunday 3rd July 2016 so keep an eye on www.tottingtonsbigdayout.co.uk for further announcements.

On the field it was a year of first and lasts …

To support our junior cricket we are running training sessions at Tottington High School’s sports hall each Wednesday from 5.00pm – 6.00pm right through the Winter. Check out our website www.tsjcc.co.uk for further information, speak to any member of the club or just turn up on a Wednesday, you will be made very welcome.

With the club now providing cricket for men, women, boys and girls of all ages along with a ladies rounders team, we are always looking for new players. If you fancy joining a friendly local club please speak to any player or committee member or contact us via the website.

The progress the club continues to make doesn’t happen without lots of hard work in the background and I would like to place on record my thanks to the fantastic committee which Tottington Sports Club is very fortunate to have.

Finally, I would like to wish you and all the other people, who have supported cricket in Bury in 2015, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I Will if You Will Biffaward
