So here we are, the final week of our inaugural TSJ Fantasy Cricket League, and it's been a topsy turvy 20 round ride. Before we look at the overall winners and losers, let's check on the weekly performances.
Big Ben closed the season in dramatic style, flaying 102 in a losing match effort, while there were three other half centuries, despite all our sides being defeated. On the bowling front Mr Adidas led the way with 7-12, while Paceman Smalls, Sail Away, Marshy Fartpants and Katie Paceace all took big hauls.
Among the fantasy characters, Tom Lefty is our overall best performing player in the season, just pipping Marshy Fartpants who ended with a blinding performance. Our top performing all-rounder was the veteran Nelly C and keeping honours went to the even more veteran Curious George, proving that age is no barrier to success in a random number generation game!! It'll come as no surprise to anyone who has been following this silliness that Beardy Gav was comfortably the worst performing player, and was frankly lucky to get to 1,000 points!
So what does that mean for our teams? After a very difficult season Silly Sloggers top the weekly rankings for the first time and ensure they avoid the dreaded bottom spot, while Oh Hello end up last in week 20 and may have scuppered their entire season!
Our first fantasy championship side is Fenton's Flyers - many congratulations to Laura Fenton who has come from third to overhaul uncle Mark and Dickie P in the last week! After an astonishing season, just 101 points separates our top three teams. However it's not all good news for the Parkinson clan, as Laura's dad Craig and Oh Hello end up at the bottom of the heap and "win" the wooden spoon after several weeks of steady decline!!
