RENOVATIONS UNDERWAY
Following the exciting news at the AGM that the ground is to be purchased, work is underway to transform TSJCC for the coming season. Despite chilly weather, work commenced last Saturday during the first of two groundwork days. While the young and foolish were gallivanting around Yorkshire, the old lags have started on renovations inside and out. Here are three early improvements to enjoy.
Specially designed for visiting number 9 batsmen, the range offers several targets to hit off the bowling of our beloved "Mr Sixer" Fez. There's a maximum score of 36, which is surely unachievable! To make things easier, Fez will ensure that every ball is pitched in exactly the same place time and again with no variation whatsoever! You can even line up to retrieve the big shots alongside Danny "Mind My Shoes" Asburner and Phillllll "My catch, My catch, Oops" Hayes. This development is sponsored by the Samaritans.
Following the successful trial with Clive some years ago, we have now completed phase 2 of embedding player likenesses into the ground. These exclusive drone shots show how three current club icons will look when emblazoned into the grass.
After a group of unsavoury-looking chaps was spotted hanging about the ground circa 4pm every Friday afternoon, our "Gimmer Squad" have decided to improve surveillance and security within the pavilion. This will ensure that T'Yorkshire Corner remains free of outsiders from T'West o'T Pennines and also gets Frank, Nick and Al their care in the community hours. This development is sponsored by the Guinness Club in conjunction with Sir Nicholas Garvey Hudson Esq.
