Tottington St John's Women was established in 2014 and is the only team in the surrounding area fully catering for women and girls. The team play games on a Sunday throughout the summer as part of Division 1 in the Women’s Northern League. The team play various other teams in home and away fixtures.
The team are always looking for new players and caters for all abilities, from county standard to beginners and juniors. We have Lancs skipper Jasmine Titmuss, county stars such as Charlotte Boulton and Australian star Meg Phillips along with a handful of county juniors playing alongside women returning to the game and those picking up a bat for the first ever time. We are a friendly, social team, looking to increase our numbers across more age groups.
In winter 2014/15 the women trained every Wednesday and were coached by England star Kate Cross, see poster below for details. During the summer the women train on Friday evenings down at Crompton Meadows from 6.15pm. We also held a women's and girl's open day at the club on Saturday March 28th. For 2015 we are sponsored by Northern Star IFA.
